How to Make a Fancy Balloon Arch
Hey there! Ready to make a stunning balloon arch that’s perfect for any special occasion? Don’t worry, it’s simpler than it looks and brings a ton of visual impact!
I’m definitely giving this a go for my next baby shower. The colors we used here would also rock a Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve bash. The best part? You can swap out the colors to match any event!
Supplies You’ll Need
- Electric balloon pump
- Balloon decorating strip
- 30 mini balloons
- 40-45 regular-sized balloons (various pink)
- Glue dots or tape
- Balloon ribbon
- Greenery (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Blow Up The Balloons
- Use your electric balloon pump to inflate the balloons and tie them closed. If you want to get ahead of the game, blow up all your balloons first and keep them in large garbage bags so they don’t float away. Working in a room with a low ceiling can also help keep them reachable.
-
Attach Balloons to Decorating Strip
- Slip the knot of a regular-sized balloon through one of the holes in the decorating strip. Skip a few holes and place the next balloon facing the opposite direction. Keep alternating colors and sides until your strip is as long as you need it.
-
Trim and Position the Decoration Strip
- Cut the strip just past where the balloons end on either side. Tie a piece of balloon ribbon or twine onto each end and secure the arch over your chosen piece of furniture, or let the ribbons go down to the floor and use balloon weights.
-
Fill in With Mini Balloons
- Use glue dots to stick the mini balloons in the gaps and crevices until your arch looks full and fabulous.
-
Optional: Add Greenery
- If you want to add greenery, just tuck the sprigs into dense areas of the arch or tape the stems in hidden spots.
Extra Tip
-
We also made a scalloped border for our table using folded tissue paper and scissors to add a textured fringe. Super cute and easy!
Final Touches
Voila! You’ve got an amazing balloon arch perfect for making any party extra special. Picture it over a buffet loaded with treats and champagne – fabulous, right?
We also love using trays and pretty cake stands for additional table decorations. For even more fun, try making a balloon garland for your front door!
